lyrics

I get up feeling grim, put on my biggest grin - do an affirmation - give the prayer wheel a spin. My horoscope’s lookin’ good, but the weather man says, “rain.” The car’s got a flat battery, and my life is kind of lame. My guru got arrested for sleeping with teenage girls. My analyst’s on Prozac. She said I should give it a whirl. I suck down a coffee and I read the personal ads. My last girlfriend told me I was just like her dad. What a great journey. The sun keeps comin' up just about every day. Einstein said, "space is love." The kids just play. I sit on a mountain top and I try to pray, but I trample all the flowers as I grovel on my way. What a great journey. I hope the pain is worth it. I think that I’m asleep. A blind man in paradise, an ass among the sheep. The sun dips behind the ridge and turns the world to gold. There’s freedom ‘round the next bend, if I could just let go. They say that God's in heaven, that there’s power in the land, there’s an angel at my shoulder, and magic at my command. But the veil is thick and gauzy. There’s something in my way The journey’s never ending – well at least that’s what they say.

about

Andrew Buglass Ruatapu, New Zealand

A musician of little repute or technical skill. Fell in love with song at an early age and learned his simple guitar licks imitating the likes of Neil Young, Ian Anderson & Luke Hurley. Lyrical inspiration from the Dylan's & Cohen's of the world - with a dash of Morrissey or maybe Kristin Hersh. Performances limited to brief solo outings in cupboards and other small spaces. Until now. ... more
